Welcome ... to the all-new Bod's World 2
... for whiter-whites and the fresh smell of ... oops! sorry, that's a washing powder ad. ^_^
I've tried to build on the success of my previous site by incorporating a host of new features for your delectation. The first thing you will notice is the new layout, with a generic banner bar above (as before) but also now a contents bar on the left - this will appear on most pages to allow easy access to all areas of this site. As new features are incorporated then an image link will be included in the contents.
Secondly, those of you using IE4+ or NN4.x will notice a dynamic pop up description box when you mouseover certain parts of the page (e.g. the contents links). This is an implementation of DHTML using JavaScript to provide a more user-friendly interaction. Although I would like to claim credit for this feature, my thanks go to Erik Bosrup for his overLib 3.10 utility which I have utilised. Unfortunately it does not seem to be compatible with NN6 - when I become aware of a fix for this I will implement it. If you would like to use this script then you can get it Here.
Another feature I have incorporated is that of an individual page counter, rather than simply a site hit counter. You can see the result of this in the banner bar at the top - on the right-hand-side. What I do is increment the page count value in a text file each time that a page is visited, PROVIDED THAT it is the first time that page has been hit in the current user session. This way the counter is only incremented once per session, and allows me to track which parts of my site are the most popular.
The last new feature again involves the contents bar - if you scroll down the page then the contents will follow you :O) This makes it easy for you to move around the site - you don't have to scroll back to the top of the page to find the links. How do I do this? Well, again I would like to claim credit but my thanks this time go to Aaron Boodman for his 'chaser' script which is documented at http://www.webreference.com/dhtml/. Unfortunately this also does not seem to be compatible with NN6 - when I become aware of a fix for this I will implement it. If you would like to use this script then you can get it Here.
